18th & Addison’s debut album “Little Parasites” just came out, with Tom Kunzman, formerly of A Criminal Risk. SInce Kait has toured the country, here are some of her favorite places in America…
My favorite place in the U.S. to visit is…definitely Chicago. Even though it’s always freezing cold, I love walking around there and seeing everything. different shops, to the different food places. I just love it there.
The first thing I do when I go to Chicago is I go to all the different shops. There are some great tattoo shops over there that I like to stop in and check out and of course I always shop at all the other stores and buy way too many clothes!
Everyone should visit…Nashville, TN…at least once. The entire atmosphere there is incredible. There’s so much history and witnessing it all in person is even cooler. All the people that live there are so nice and welcoming. I once had a waitress ask where I was from and when I told her I’d never been to Nashville before, she read almost every single menu item and gave all her best recommendations. It was so crazy. Definitely not something you experience where I’m from in NJ.
Growing up in NJ I wasn’t sure how I was going to adjust to being in California but it was definitely a pleasant surprise…is a pleasant surprise.
I went there once before and wasn’t sure if I liked it but the more I went, I met more people and got familiar with all the cool nightlife, and venues and I really started to like it. Definitely a lot of cool spots.
My favorite restaurant in the U.S. is…McAlister’s Deli. I had it for the first time this year and then I ate it like 3 days in a row on tour. Literally the best mac & cheese and Caesar wraps I’ve ever had. It nice because on tour you don’t always wanna eat crappy fast food so when there’s a McAlister’s in site, I’m all over it. There aren’t any in NJ so whenever I’m on tour in a state I know there is one, I make sure I go there and get more to go. Hahaha.
My favorite airport in the U.S. is…to be honest I’m terrified to fly anywhere so they’re all pretty terrible but if I HAD to choose I’d say Philly airport is my favorite because it’s easy to navigate around and I’m the most familiar with it.
