Recipe: Pasta Sauce

Actress Tanna Frederick’s PAPA’S RED SAUCE

1  28 oz. can of  tomato sauce

1  28 oz. can of diced tomatoes

1  6 oz. can of tomato paste

1  tsp fish sauce

1 Tb Italian herbs or 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp, thyme, 1 tsp basil, 1/2 tsp rosemary

1/2 – 1 bottle of red wine (may used open bottle forgotten in pantry even if slightly acidic)

2  bay leaves

3 onions diced

10 garlic cloves crushed and sliced

1 – 2  lbs ground pork or burger or soy

6 Tb olive oil

brown suger, salt and pepper

Asiago, romano, or parmesan cheese grated – whatever is in fridge


TannaFrederick4888wAdd first 8 ingredients in large pot, simmer for four hours. Combine olive oil, onions, garlic, burger. Medium heat until meat is browned and add to red sauce mix. At about 3 hours taste and add brown sugar to balance acidity, salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with pasta or rice. top with grated cheese or parsley.
