Celebrity Travel Spotlight: Jessica Romano

Jessica Romano is on the reality series “Glam Fairy” which airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Style Network. She loves being a glam fairy, although this former MAC makeup artist has been making people feel glam for years. Here are Jessica’s favorite places in the country…

My favorite place in the U.S. to visit is… Twin Lakes, PA. The only place in the world I’m perfectly fine with bad cell reception. As someone who spends a lot of time tweeting, texting, and talking on their phone, Twin Lakes provide a peaceful escape to my busy life. Surrounding this serene community are two connecting spring-fed lakes. There are no motorboats permitted on the lakes, allowing them to maintain their clean, clear, and glacial-like qualities. When the sun goes down, you can see every star in the sky, and I don’t even need my Google Sky App to find them.

The first thing I do when I go to Twin Lakes is…I jump in my golf cart and race my little brother Nick to the lake….only slowing down to wave at the old school locals who are not happy when our carts go over 5 mph.

Everyone should visit…Long Beach Island, NJ…at least once. Although I am a Jersey girl, I was never a fan of the Jersey Shore – but LBI is different. The locals are welcoming, the beaches are clean, and there is always something to do. You can catch me in the arcades at Fantasy Island, spending every quarter I can find trying to win a fluffy stuffed animal with a little crane.

Puerto Rico…was a pleasant surprise…because when I visited, I realized it was part of the U.S. I also found out I’m not good at speaking Spanish.

My favorite restaurant in the U.S. is…IHOP because there is one in every town and I can pretty much live on pancakes if I had to. I’m like Stewie from Family Guy — addicted to pancakes.

Last summer on a business trip to Ocean City, Maryland, for my makeup line Glamorous Cosmetics, I discovered CRAB CAKES. Omg. I had never even tried crab before and now I’m obsesssssssed and nothing seems to compare to the amazing crabs I had there! MMMmmm

A great town people may not know about to visit are…Just across the Hudson is a little Jersey town called Hoboken. Along with the breathtaking views of the NYC skyline, Hoboken is known for its nightlife. Friday afternoons the bars are full of young hotties in suits that just made the 15 minute ride home on the PATH from NYC to start their happy hour. Saturday nights the streets are buzzing as the crowds go bar to bar looking for a good time. If you’re in town, visit my favorite places for good music and good people  – the West Five Supper Club and Green Rock.

I’d like to visit Texas so I can wear my cowboy boots without judgment and make out with a cowboy!

  1. Jessica, those are some excellent places you mentioned. However, don’t limit yourself – get in the car, hit I-95 and road trip it down south and visit every state along the way! Come to Charleston, SC and experience the “low country” (below sea level and down from the upstate areas of SC). I guarantee you’ll find it delightful, fun and folks wear their “schit kickers” down here too along with fabulously fashioned frocks! We’re full of history, charm, cuisineS and we have some great beaches too! You would most definitely benefit a visit to our fine city and others along your next journeys!

Hope to see or read about you coming on down our way sooner than later!

    Kindest regards,
