Most people know of Kaya Jones when she was with the Pussycat Dolls, with fellow vocalists Nicole Sherzinger and Melody Thornton. Since leaving the group, she’s been busy with her solo career – she was in a music video with Eminem and sang back up vocals for Mick Jagger on a Golden-Globe-winning song for the movie “Alfie.” She also contributed two songs for the movie “American Pie Presents: Book of Love.” Kaya’s new EP “Release” drops November 8th, which includes highly anticipated remixes of her controversial single “Boyfriend” and “Release the Energy.” Here are her favorite places in the country…
My favorite place in the U.S. to visit is…Miami because it has great weather, beautiful hotels and the people are laid back. It’s a slice of an island in the Americas.
The first thing I do when I go to Miami is…I go to a spa and have day with the girls just to pamper ourselves. I can forget about all the worries and stress and just focus on me. I love sipping on champagne while having a pedicure, looking out the window and seeing the waves at the beach.
Everyone should visit…New York, NY…at least once because…it is a blend of cultures and has some of the greatest views, the most amazing foods and the city is united. It has incredible entertainment like Broadway shows and you’re free to be who you are. It’s about being artistic. To me, New York is the heart of America.
Colorado…is a pleasant surprise…Because I thought that it would be flat and boring. It surprised me because the dynamics, it has some of the most incredible views where you look out and don’t know where heaven ends and the Earth begins. The ski resorts are amazing and if I were to ever raise a family I would want it to be there.
My favorite restaurant to eat at in the U.S. is…9 Steak House at the Palms, Las Vegas, NV.
I can’t just name one place, this is too hard for me but these are the best places ever.
The best place to find…the best filet that you will ever have in your life…is at…Salvatore’s in Buffalo, NY because they cook it in butter and a dash of olive oil. I had the pleasure of having the owner personally cook it right in front of me at the table. The service was the best I’ve ever encountered.
A great town people may not know about to visit is…Missoula, Montana. Incredible fishing, wonderful horseback riding and you can get a massage in a teepee if your heart desires.
Okay, so here’s the truth…my favorite road trip truck stop is…purely a guilty pleasure and I usually try to make this road trip on a daily basis. Okay, now not too many people know this about me, but Taco Bell is my weakness especially when you see the signs on the freeway with the cheese nachos. It draws my attention and immediately I find one. Now most people will pick a diner but I can’t, Taco Bell just hits the spot.
America is very diverse from the beautiful architecture in New York, to the wonderful beaches of Miami, to the wonderful native culture throughout Texas, to the incredible freedom of expression in Los Angeles. America is my home and there are so many amazing cities. Each state has hidden gems within it.
